Only realised last week that now I have air pods and Apple Watch I do not need to take my phone out running anymore!! Lot easier without it!! 👍 now just take a small bottle for a drink and nothing else 👍

Funny how you get into a habit with kit. I always run with my phone incase something happens and I need to phone someone- 15 runs a month for 12 months and only phoned once 6 months ago when I decided to extend a run and needed a lift home🤣 happy running 🤗

You can call on your Apple Watch 👍 you must be a dedicated runner!! I ran 5k this morning, after my 10k on Wed not sure when to do another long run 🏃‍♀️

Do your next long run when you want to - not when you feel you should 🤗

Thats great, thanks for the advice.. I’m actually looking forward to running another 10k which seems crazy 😝

That's the best way to feel about it. Go enjoy🤗

Only if you have the cellular version of the watch. Standard version you must have your phone nearby to make/receive calls 🙂

I don’t take my phone with me unless I’m going to be running where there won’t be people... and it’s very liberating to not be contactable.

Yay! I had my first phone free run with my watch this morning and it was great... until my watch ran out of battery at 7km 🤣 I was working out how long ther battery lasts. And now I know.

What watch do you have?

Garmin Vivoactive 4S. Love it! Got it this week and was running the battery down completely to get a sense of how long it lasts. 4 days, including 2runs with bluetooth headphones connected so pretty good!

Cwor, that is good. My Apple watch barely makes a day if I’ve done a long walk or a run!

It’s freeing isn’t it? I love my Apple Watch for running! 💕

They’re quite inaccurate. I got rid of mine and moved to garmin never to go back 🤣

Can you listen to spotify/music on the watch alone? I thought you had to take the phone too!! It’s a revelation!

I believe from series three up you can use it without your phone. I went for the three for this reason and I can listen to music without my phone!

There are a few garmin models that do this. 645M, vivoactive 4.

I use Apple air pods and Apple Watch so in theory you can listen to anything you have on your watch, I use Apple Music as I have downloaded lots of tracks and have a running playlist.

Are you saying that I have the C25k application on my Apple Watch ⌚️ series 3 to use as I see fit. If so revelation I recently downloaded the option of heavy rotation playlist as I think like others it suffers from limited battery and storage l, sorry I do not have the cellular one ☝️

I always take my phone even if I'm not going to listen to music. I had a nasty fall three or four weeks ago, and needed to go to hospital to get my face stuck back together. I was only a couple of KM from home but still needed someone to collect me...
