At last.......NEW SHOES 😀 & a PB in the old ones!

Well here they are at last. Yesterday, I finally decided it was time to buy new running shoes. There was some excitement amongst the lovely young men in the running store when I took out my old shoes....my shoes were older than they were 🤣

My original ASICS gel- kayano’s are 27 years old! They have travelled the world with me and I’m definitely not throwing them out.

Before I went shopping I ran a 5k PB attempt and knocked a full minute off my best time. My new shoes have a lot to live up to!!! I’m expecting to fly 🤣🤣

Love the new shoes but oh my what a story those old ones could tell. What character they have. They can retire knowing they have served you well even providing a PB at the end. I hope your new ones take you even further and feel for you as you part from old friends of 27 yrs. An emotional day jorge.🥺

🤣🤣 that’s made me smile, they will retire from running but will take up voluntary work in the summer walking to the beach, we could never leave each other 🥰

Wow! 27 years old. How did you get them to last that long? They don’t make em like that anymore. Mine are only 2 years old and worn through. Happy running !

thanks Buddy getting the PB was a hard run, so I’m going to take it easy in August and enjoy bedding in the new shoes 🤗

I love your new shoes I have Asics too, but I would never let your old babies go. They’re fabulous! Hmmm 🤔 you should share this post with Asics they would be so impressed and could provide you with shoes for the next 27 years. 👍

Oh goodness, hubby has a mountain bike that age and like you saw today, it does get some comments. Well done on your PB. You will notice such a change with your new shoes. May take a bit of getting used to. Happy running 🤗

Don't be scared they'll be wonderful. We both had to get 2 new wheels and tyres a couple of months ago when said bikes and bike rack fell off the back of the car as we moved house🤪 now in a new flat area with loads of cycle opportunities we may well buy road bikes. I suspect there will be loads up for sale next year when everyone who purchased one in lockdown realises they no longer use it🤣
