So I've got a weak bum...

Well left glute to be more precise... I had pretty much come to that conclusion from internet reading and watching video's and this was the conclusion from my online physio session on tuesday evening. So single leg squats it is for me, and variations of, and see how I'm doing in 2 weeks. Ok to keep running so that's good πŸ‘

It's amazing how weak it is actually πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ maybe it explains why even though I've been running for almost 12 months there are times I don't really feel any stronger πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Could well be... engaging the glutes makes a big difference to the run. Someone here told me to imagine clenching a 2p coin between the cheeks as I ran. They may have been having me on of course... and I’m not sure if using a 10p would be any different 🀣

You do realise I'm going to be thinking about that next time I run 🀣

Will be interesting to see the benefit in a couple of weeks. Funny how it’s one side. Is it your non-dominant side?

Yes it is my non-dominant side, I'm right handed but also played golf for many years and he thinks that might have something to do with it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

The exercises will help. I saw a physio last week and was told I also have a weak glute on my left (non-dominant side). I religiously did the exercises and ran again after 5 days. I noticed a big difference to my running so hopefully they will work for you.

I'll also have to think about the 2p coin!

Good luck

Sounds like it was well worth checking it out. And now UnfitNoMore has also planted a virtual 2p in a lot of heads πŸ₯΄, well...there could be even greater runs ahead!! 😁❀️

And not just a virtual 2p in our heads 🀣🀣

Join the club! Left glute has also been a problem as I've posted before. But not any more! The exercises really work! I think it's easy to just run using your quads, but all the power is from the glutes! You will be super strong soon!

What I've noticed is that even though during my recovery runs I ran out of steam a bit due to several weeks not running, I seem to have power left in the tank at the end of the run, to speed up for a couple of minutes. I'm sure that must be down to the glute strengthening work! Good luck and glad it's nothing nasty!

I'm looking forward to seeing a difference! Just lots of squats to do in the meantime!

You will come out much stronger, I know I did after months of exercises like this for a dodgy hip.
