Looks like I'm resting up for a while 😥 a niggle I've had since being pregnant with boy no 2 has flared up. Tightness / soreness from my left hip all the way down the outside of my left leg to my calf and into my knee. I guess doing running races with the eldest whilst carrying the youngest on my right hip wasn't the best idea I've had 🙄 trying to find a local sports physio, but how do you know if they're any good 🤷♀️ hoping a few days rest might do the trick... the new shoes will have to stay in the box for a bit longer...
Is there room for me on the IC 😥: Looks like... - Bridge to 10K
Is there room for me on the IC 😥
Sorry to hear that Mum22boys. I hope you’ll be feeling a lot better after a bit of rest. 🤔 Just something that you might consider...My son plays rugby and they have a physio who comes into the club (they’re not playing at the moment of course), but she does do private work too. You might be able to contact your local rugby club to ask for a recommendation.
In the meantime rest well. Wishing you a speedy recovery! ❤️
That’s it! You’re officially a runner 🏃♀️ 😂
Joking aside, I’m really sorry to read your on the IC 😭 esp after new shoes...
I’m not a runner 😳 so can’t offer any helpful advice other than maybe rest up for a couple of days?
Fab450 rugby club physio recommendation is a fab idea 🙂
Take care of yourself xx
Hope it’s just a niggle and that a few days rest will sort it 😁
Really hope the rest eases the pain. Is it the IT band? Hopefully some rest and it starts to feel better for you.
Well, I had considered that in the past from reading but had discounted it as the discomfort runs all the way down the outer of the lower part of my leg and I thought the IB only went to the knee 🤷♀️ a friend of mines husband works as a physio at Alderhey so going to have a chat with him initially and see what he thinks...
That's handy. Good luck and I wish you a quick recovery 😊
That’s definitely the IT band
Sorry to hear that Mum22boys. I’m also on the IC since my 10k and my new shoes are still in the box. We will be back 🏃♀️
Sorry to hear that.
I had a recommendation for a sports physio from my local running shop. She is an ultra runner herself so has an interest in running injuries. I am due to see her on Thursday.
Maybe ask around other runners for advice.
Oh no that's so disappointing! Hope that you get sorted quickly. Those lovely shoes will be waiting for you when you are ready to get back out there. Take care. X
Oh no, poor you. I do empathise, having a rather sensitive left hip from pregnancy. Hopefully you can do some gentle exercises to help. You can get on online physio appointment. I had one recently for my injury and it was really helpful.
I've been doing some today and started doing some clams. Apparently very good for IB issues... which I probably have and I heard on a RunPod podcast the best strengthening exercise for runners so I'm hoping I won't be on the couch too long 🤞 oooo ok, that's good to know, I'll look into that. Hope your return is still going well
If you YouTube James Dunne he has loads of tips and exercises for hip stability, which I found super interesting and helpful too.
I will have a look thank you. Can I ask, did you find it easy to pick someone to have an online physio session with?
Oh no! Just reading this now! That’s rubbish, here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. Funny, my left hip plays up after baby no 3, the running has helped but it has been niggling these last few days. Sounds like you would benefit from a few specific hip exercises and a good physio sounds like a good plan.
