Could you shuffle up and let me join you on the IC please?! I’ve had a grumbly hip for a few weeks so haven’t done much running. I managed to get an appointment with a lovely physio and after much prodding and poking (ouch!) it was fortunately found to be not too serious. But it means no running until the next appointment in 3 weeks and if I’m very good about doing the exercises I’ve been given, I may be allowed to lace up the trainers again then! On the plus side it’s so nice to have something in the diary to look forward to! Happy running folks - I’ll be lurking here so no slacking while I’m gone!
I hope the IC is comfy!: Could you shuffle up... - Bridge to 10K
I hope the IC is comfy!
I always feel better when I have a diagnosis and rehab plan to work with. 3 weeks will fly by 🙂
It’s great that you got to see someone for expert advice Oldgirlruns. It sounds like it was a very thorough check up, and you now have something positive to do to improve your strength in the week areas.
Enjoy those squats! And we’ll be checking on you to make sure you are looking forward. 🙄
Well OGR you’ve picked a good time of year to be on the IC I suppose. But even so, I bet you’ll be itching to get out after your 3 weeks is up. It’ll fly by! Happy exercising in the meantime. 🥰
Hope you get back to it in 3 weeks all the stronger! You might even benefit from the rest.
You can have our space that we don’t need at the moment, I’ve left you some soft cushions to keep you cosy, hopefully you will soon be out there
Thank you - if it’s too cosy I may not want to move again!
Then you can join me on my non IC and we can get fat together, I don’t know why we are still finishing Christmas chocolates but we are Seriously though, heal well and you will soon be back out running gently along the seafront
You’ve picked the right time of year, I think for the IC ❄️🌧
Great that you have a plan and a timetable. You’ll soon be back running 🐌🐢🏃🏻♀️💪
What a pain OGR! But at least you know what the issue is and what to do about it .
Oh my, so sorry to hear about your injury but really glad you've seen a physio. What a positive spin on your next meeting, like you I grab the smallest thing to add to the diary. I hope your time on the IC passes quickly and painlessly. Take care 🤗
What a pain, but at least you got to see somebody who was able to give a proper diagnosis, and it doesn't sound too serious. Wish you a very speedy recovery and return from the IC. It might be comfy - but not so comfy you want to stay there for ages.
I’ve shuffled up to let you in 😂 I’ve just arrived ( calf strain on Tuesday 🤷🏼♀️😢) can’t say I like it here but nice to have your company .
Sorry, though, that the hip has sent you here and I hope it does heal quickly .
The weather is icy again so I wouldn’t be getting out anyway. Ironic that I was delaying my last run so I wouldn’t hurt myself with a fall and ended up here anyway 😂
These days I feel as though I should have a short recording of a ‘fanfare’ to play on the occasion of writing something on the calendar 😂😂
Oh I’m so sorry you’re on the IC Racing! Calf strains are sneaky things aren’t they, one minute all is well and the next - ping! And you’re out of action again. It’s always nice to have company of course but I hope you’re off and running again soon! But not if it’s icy - the little piece of titanium on my wrist is testament to how horrible it can be!
Hope your grumbly hip cheers up soon Oldgirlruns, I’ll do an extra few k’s just for you next time I venture out 👍
You can have my spot. I plumped up the cushions before I left it on Monday. 🤪
Sorry about you being on the IC, however, with the weather being the way it is, snow forecast for your area on Sunday, hopefully by the time you are back running the temperature won't be so low, enjoy your walks.
I still visit the couch to rest up my other now ouchy knee so will bring orange drizzle cake as we exercise
Sorry to hear about your visit to the IC OGR enjoy the rest from running and enjoy the exercises in the warmth of your own home and 🤞by the time 3 weeks are up the weather will be warmer and your hip will have stopped grumbling.
Ok, I ‘m shuffling up, here’s a warm place by the fire! 😄 ...I’m sorry to hear that OGR - but good to know that it’s not too serious & a “mending plan” is in place. Good luck with those exercises. Xxx
Be diligent with those exercises OGR and hopefully you'll be healed and running in comfort again really, really soon.
You’ll hopefully miss all this dodgy cold stuff too, and the days will be longer. It’s win win really 👍 Take care and heal soon xx
Can I join you too? This icy ground has absolutely destroyed my hip (the unsorted one - the bionic one is grand), and now I have an ortho appointment. I'm determined to get out for a run/shuffle/trundle tomorrow, but will need to be really cautious. Will be watching all of the posts here about actual running with interest (& envy 😫). Take care & I hope you're off the IC soon!
Hope that 3 week rest is all it takes and you’re back on the road soon 🏃♀️
so sorry to hear, but good you know exactly what the issue is. I'm sure 3 weeks will go really quickly. Hopefully the weather will be better by then too.Take care and we'll see you back on the circuit very soon!
🏃♀️😀
Oh OGR, that's rotten, but I'm glad you have managed to get some advice and have a plan of action. Fingers crossed that in three weeks time you WILL be lacing up those trainers and springing up off the IC. Enjoy your seaside walks 🤗
