Parkrun or not

What a beautiful morning for my 10th Parkrun but maybe it wasnโ€™t. I forgot my barcode ๐Ÿ˜”.

But I gave it my best shot. Every time I saw a walker I tried to catch them up and on the last lap I had two ladies walking as fast as I was running! So I dug deep to get in front of them. I did it!

Got to the end checked my Garmin and achieved a new PB.

So happy as when I started the Parkrun I had in my head I wanted to get to 42.11 which I read somewhere was a good time for my age. Well I did it in 42.04.

But as no barcode I guess I will have to do it again next week! Well I know I can do it.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone if itโ€™s where you are. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Well done on completing your 10th parkrun this morning, sorry you forgot your barcode, if you run a parkrun without a barcode, even if you run it in 17 minutes and you are first all that comes up in the results is position number and the word 'unknown'

Thank you.

Well done KR! A PB is a PB whether itโ€™s recorded or not - you know you did it and so does your Garmin! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

So true but Iโ€™ve learnt my lesson. Spare barcode in my running bag and Iโ€™ve moved my barcode wristband to a more prominent position so Iโ€™m reminded next time. We live and learn and most importantly my body knows I did it.

Brilliant! It was a fabulous run. Do you drive to parkrun? I have my wristband barcode over my gearstick! Itโ€™s bright pink so itโ€™s hard to miss (touch wood!) ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Mines bright pink too! But I get chauffeured there so cant put it on the gear stick. But I wonโ€™t forget again. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I keep a copy tucked behind my phone inside itโ€™s case. Then Iโ€™ve always got it ๐Ÿ˜œ

If you run with your phone that is ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Now thatโ€™s a thought! Thanks for that. Never without my phone. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

I can promise you knittingrunner, you only forget your barcode once! The time both UpTheStanley and I forgot ours, he ran back home to pick them up and ran back again before the Tailwalkers got in. My hero. Now we have a mini parkrun tag attached to our shoes which reminds us to take the big one.

It is still 5k on your legs and in your stats so well done for keeping going. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

What a good idea. I suspect I might have to do that as Iโ€™m not good at keeping things in my bag.

What a star for the additional run. Unfortunately I was with my neighbour and three very young teenagers who were all desperate for their hot chocolate! I couldnโ€™t keep them from that. Lol. ๐Ÿฅค

Thatโ€™s great that you all go together, and hot choc or cappuccino just has to be done.

Itโ€™s a good way to encourage the girls and it makes sure both my neighbour and I go. A little bit of motivation. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well done! You still did it! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ƒ it doesnโ€™t matter if it wasnโ€™t recorded your Garmin is probably more accurate. If your Parkrun is anything like my Parkrun it takes about 30 seconds to get going after the time starts!!

Oh what a shame your forgot your barcode. Mine disintegrated a couple of weeks ago due to torrential rain they took my name and looked me up after the race so I got my time.

I suspect youโ€™ll only do it once! I now have a spare in my glove compartment of my car in case of emergencies. I do fancy getting a plastic one

Wow thatโ€™s kind of them

I have the wrist band but before that I put the barcode in a little plastic card sleeve which keeps it sealed and safe.

Like you say I wonโ€™t forget again !

But the card is going in my phone case in future as a fall back. ๐Ÿ˜‰
