Who’s seen my mojo?

I meant to go out yesterday but when I woke up I couldn’t find my mojo, goodness knows where I’ve put it, probably the same place as my glasses! But anyway, without it no run. Maybe it’s because I’m in a bit of a rut again and always seem to max out at 5K. So it’s back on to ju-ju’s plan to focus on that 10k goal once more. I’ve started at week 2 and did 6k this morning which took me 59:23 but as that was 4:30 mins quicker than when I did the plan in Apr/May, I think I’m happy with that! A lovely clear morning right across the Solent, I could see Osborne House (a favourite place of Queen Victoria). If you zoom in on my pic, you’ll see a cormorant perched on the pole. Happy magic plan peeps!

A good idea Oldgirlruns. I remember cheekychipmunks did the plan 3 times in a row back in the day. It gives you a target and You can still do a (not) parkrun each week.

I’ll be doing it too when I’ve sorted my heel out.

What happened to your heel Dexy5 ? ☹️

Not sure yet. Don’t think it was running related, but it feels better this morning. 🤞

Lovely photo. Glad you got out for a run, and to knock all that time off was superb . I was getting stuck on wanting to do shorter runs until I opted for a new route on Saturday which was actually taking me on a journey. I found having the option of either completing the journey or resorting to giving up and having to phone hubby for a lift home was a great incentive to keep running the distance. Hopefully by restarting ju ju’s plan your mojo will return from it’s little break. Happy running 🤗

Thanks Grannyhugs! I’m starting to try new runs as well - sometimes my usual routes but done in a different direction and last week I went with Dexy5 and UTS to one of their favourite run spots which was new to me- lovely!

Haven’t seen it OGR but I’m sure you will catch it up now you have a good plan, 5k is my comfortable run but I’ve got a bit bored so we went to some different parks on Sunday and have found one we liked so will go back, take care and enjoy just being able to run and the plan

We don’t break any records but still get a real kick out of being able to run

Sometimes its a great idea to get back on a running plan even if you've done it before. I'm sure your mojo has returned already with a great 6k.

Thats a beautiful photo , I always wish I lived near the sea. Good luck and keep posting 🏃‍♀️😊🏃‍♀️

I sometimes feel a bit mean posting seaside photos Buddy, when so many people have to run on roads in the city - but I hope they give people a bit of pleasure! And I love looking at the places other people run in so I guess it works all ways!

I agree with grannyhugs, mix up your routes a bit and hopefully with the structure of starting the magic plan again you'll pick your mojo up one day on a run and take it home with you. I also think that even though we're getting some freedom back the world is still a really crazy place and we're having to adapt to and process so many changes at the moment it's no wonder we have days where it's all just a bit tough. Stick at it and you'll find your rhythm again.

Fab picture btw, what a beautiful place for a run and super well done on the improvement in time, that's a massive increase in only a couple of months 😊

Thanks Mum! You’re quite right of course, everything’s upside down at the moment and I’m sure the mojo will turn up eventually!

I'd ask that cormorant. You must've been running along, complete with mojo, taking in that glorious view, and that cheeky little mojo pincher swooped in and grabbed it. I hope said mojo has been restored to its rightful owner by now!

Sounds like you found the mojo... now keep hold of it!!! Great job.

I believe Queen Victoria died in Osbourne House too.

“Mymojo” (as she was officially called on the C25k forum because she featured so much), was found hiding behind a sofa cushion one Saturday evening a few weeks ago. I’d just finished watching Daniel Craig in Casino Royale and was straightening the settee before heading to bed, and there Mymojo was!! I had my running gear all lined up for the following morning before she disappeared again.

You really do find mojos hiding in the strangest places, so I’m glad yours now seems to have come out of hiding and helped you with your 6k today 😊😉.

Good for you OGR and hope your mojo is restored. Beautiful view on your photo. Following a plan works for me too, I still miss C25k Laura telling me what to do 😊

Hi OGR! Your mojo is on hols, that’s all. It wants a chance of scenery but it’ll come back, don’t worry. Mojos always do - they’re all mouth and no trousers, they can’t stay away from home for long.

As Dexy5 rightly pointed out, I did the Magic 10 three times. I enjoyed the structure and I saw results. You’ll do it GOG, you have tons of support from your pals on here. Want a shove? Here’s one ➡️

Your photo is beautiful. What a day. Love the cormorant. 😍

When you find you mojo, let me know If mines there. Have felt a bit under the weather so had a week off running, was supposed to go this morning, but alas had no motivation. May try later, or tomorrow. Seem to just keep putting off. Need a kick start again I think. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Oldgirlruns profile image
OldgirlrunsGraduate10 in reply to CDAF

Exactly how I’ve been feeling! There’s a huge pile of mojos hiding somewhere - mojo hunt anyone?!

Hey, a good time to kick off the challenge again. I think you can do the 10k if you keep out there and keep at it. The days we feel iffy are the days that challenge us but you went out next day so good for you. Looks like you'll get to 10k around 100 minutes, maybe 95-100 minute bracket at the end. You can do that!!

lucky you, mine's been lost for a week now. Though, it was my birthday on the Wednesday and i guess the celebrations got the best of me and now i am back in work after two weeks off and its such a struggle to get out. Well done for getting out and with a faster time!!!

Tell me if you find it - maybe mine is with it! 🤣 It’s like everything I lose in the house - it’ll turn up says my OH. Just means he can’t be bothered to help me look!! But he’s right.

Oldgirlruns profile image
OldgirlrunsGraduate10 in reply to Sybilw

I’ve had so many responses in the same vein Sybilw - either there’s a mojo thief at large or there’s something in the water! But weirdly, the fact I’m not the only one in the boat is actually helping me! Hope you find yours soon - we all know it’ll turn up!

I bet your mojo is under the bed hiding, but I think it followed you out but couldn’t catch you. Well done. Lovely picture I can smell the sea.

Thanks June441 - nice to think there’s something slower than me! Glad you like the pic, I’m so lucky to have it a 5 minute walk away!

I find I have to feed mine. The odd pair of new socks, a new playlist and if it is really hungry new leggings.

It does sound as though yours was just going through a spot of petulance and has now got over itself.

Happy running

Ah Old Girl, I think your mojo ran off with mine, although yours appears to have decided to come back early. Beautiful pic, btw! We also live near the sea. It does sound like you have a plan. I’m a C25K grad, but have yet to hit 5K. I’ve been in the consolidation phase for a few weeks and have managed two 35 minute runs, neither enjoyable. I did mix it up a bit and loved a 15 minute run I ran a week ago or so. If you talk to your mojo please ask her to talk mine into coming back. Cheers!

Oldgirlruns profile image

Yes, I think there must be a huge pile of mojos somewhere all escapees from we struggling runners! If I find out where it is, I’ll let everyone know!
