Good grief life and the speeds it's going allowed me time to post ( a quickie post).
Feeling brave enough to venture to Chester to the sports shop ( call me old fashioned it's my age π΄) but you've gotta try footwear on or is it just me...... As my first pair of grown up running shoes were Brooks, I was looking around for a pair of trail to tarmac hybrids and the Brooks Cascadia fitted the bill perfectly.
Things happen for a reason and anyway up in a nutshell, last night I checked the website π₯ reduced π₯³π Β£120 to Β£84..... All I now need is some mud and a hill, lucky I live in Wales π. And whilst the youngest teenager pj shopped in primani Dad wandered into Black's shopping gets better the running light by petzl I was looking at ( used on eBay the other day lost out by Β£1 grrrrr..... It's there on the shelf brand new shiny and boxed with the core battery pack a mere Β£35 stone the crows, bring on a muddy hill at night time....
Still running still loving it still dodging evil UV Ray's and slapping on the suncream..... ( Note to self must up the frequency of my postings
Keep safe and happy running out there people....

Great to read you are still running and it sounds like you have been busy adding to your runner's kit and wardrobe admirably via retail therapy! Keep posting! π

Thank you. I might feel brave enough to start posting on this forum soon, however I'm still tentatively lurking on the bridge!
Little by little DD as a rule they say 10% increases π

Yes, I'm keeping to the rules βΊοΈ. roseabi has given me a great support and a plan which eventually eases me into the Magic 10k plan.
Cheers Buddy, way back in June trainers I've been waiting for and perusing, but I'm definitely guilty of liking gadgets especially when bargain prices π
Thanks Jell, I thought as the eyes start to fail, best get a head torch as my routes littered with low bridges on the canal π€. And I've wanted my trail shoes for a while so into said shop I plunged......
Stop ya googling π‘I think they sell at about Β£25 unless eBay are cheaper..... And I paid 35 for my errr spiffy Uber bright one with a core pack from blacks in Chester π
π the weather could be better, but we canβt change it, so just have to suck it up. Iβm very glad lockdown is over though and pretty excited to be going to parkrun tomorrow morning.
PS I might have mentioned something? about liking Jaffa Cakes to my granddaughter and received her home made ones for part of my birthday pressies. Divine!
Excellent choice my first official runners are brooks π Soooo comfy I envy your mud but not the hills, I am opposite you in the flatlands π€
I agree CaptFrey π both of pairs of my Brooks are like gloves and so comfy, saying that I guess others have their brands they like, horses for courses ..... We have plenty-perhaps too many hills in Wales β°οΈποΈ, not so sure I could for one in the post though..... π€
Happy birthday VRB!....What cake did you have? That's the important question!
I'm with you, I like trying things on before buying. I don't think it's an age thing! I'm a nervous online shopper, you can never really know what you're going to get. Jealous of the Chester shopping trip. I miss a good old shop....not the same with an impatient little person haha! At least you can send the teenager elsewhere!
Fair enough.... still too young to get a job but old enough to spend all your money π ... yeah good luck with that one haha! Shopping is life at 14. I remember it well!
I agree, running shoes in particular are best bought in a shop. Essential for the first pair so that you can get fitted by experts. Our local independent allows you to run outside in them, which is the only way youβll find out if they are right for you and have a good return policy too.
I wear brooks road shoes, but have gone for Saucony trails now. So much choice!
Happy running in Wales π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ
