Jujus timed plan

I’ve decided that I’m going to start Jujus timed 60 minute plan tomorrow. I’ve already been borrowing 10 mins from Monday’s run and slowly increasing Saturdays run to get my 5k in. I’ve run 5k twice once under 40 mins and once under 35 mins. I feel like I’m ready. I ran 45 mins yesterday so unsure whether to start at week 3 and repeat the 45 mins or start at week 4 and increase by 5. I’m definitely doing 20 mins tomorrow not 15 as on week 3. My thoughts are to aim for 20/30/45 again and if I feel like the extra 5 mins during the run I’ll do it and call it week 4. Thoughts?

Sounds like you have already started the plan and making great progress, well done. If you are managing 5k in 35 why not start week 1 again but go for distance? Just a thought. Happy running 🤗

I did consider that tbh but just a little concerned about fitting it in on week days time wise 🤔 you know what? I’m going to give it a go tomorrow grannyhugs you’ve inspired me 😍. I guess those self doubts crept in and I didn’t think I was up to it

Good for you - remember no pressure. My happy speed is 35mins for 5k - just done one and feel great with good HR and quick recovery. Choose your happy pace, dont be pressured by those going super fast. 🤗

Since January 2019 I've only ever done c25k twice under 40minutes, so decided to follow the distance part of Juju's 10k magic plan.. Stamina, distance all first under my belt. Then hopefully move on to improve on technique and pace.

Hmm it’s tricky to know what to do x I can do 2.5k in around 18 minutes and it would make a change to go to distance rather than minutes 🤔 a change would mix it up a bit and make it more interesting. The distance one is more of a challenge but doable 🤷‍♀️

I decided to go for distance as I had for the c25k..to build up stamina and km's slowly. It's a challenge to go further and find new routes too. Enjoy!

Personally I've always ran the distance rather than the time. I do believe you are ready to push on and commit. I think you are stronger mentally now too. I do understand about time in the week though but the plan is pretty gentle for the first two runs of each week which you can do. Then the longer one can be your weekend one. Whatever suits you best of course but have confidence. You've earned it. Believe in yourself.

I think the challenge would be good for me, c25k was a challenge every run whereas on the timed version the challenge is the long weekend run and the distance version is a challenge every run. I’m going to try the distance version for 2 weeks and see how it fits in with work (I’m a morning runner, I really don’t like running after work)

Ahhhh. Ok. I like to run after work in the week but in the morning on the weekends. Sounds like a good plan. See how you go and assess things then.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and comments x I’ve decided to go for more of a challenge and do the distance plan 👍 😳

Distance will be fine, if you can slow yourself down to 8’00”/k pace for the first few k. That’s easier said than done though 🙄.
