magic plan week 1

So here it is, the beginning of my journey from 5k to 10k and I decided to start it with a swim! I used to swim regularly, at least 3 times a week while my children were younger and then over the last 5 years I have only swam once before today. I know I need to help strengthen my legs if they are going to run more than the 5k I do now so swimming seemed a good option and it felt great to be back in the pool.

My 5.5km run is going to be tomorrow then I am going to swim again Tuesday morning and do my 2.5km run Tuesday evening. Thursday night will be my 5km run and then I am going to swim again Friday morning to end week 1.

Good luck to everyone starting the plan today :)

Good luck and enjoy the plan. It’s easier than C25K 👍🏽

wow sounds like quite a start, are you starting to look at triathlons??? running , swimming (next a new bike) lol.

I am sticking to time, not quite up to 5.5k yet but I have hopes...

I will do my 35 min run tomorrow, die Monday from doms… Tuesday will be short run and HIIT then die of doms Wednesday, but different muscles this time (foam roller at the ready). Hmmmmm, Thursday I might Swim??? I have been looking at it as well as I used to swim for my county as a youngster back in Dinosaur time and there is a sauna at the pool. Friday run and Saturday , reeeeeelaxxxxx , well ferry kids around all day and drink coffee with other parents.

I think your plan has a better chance of pushing you to 10k

I too wish all other Magic plan starters good luck and little aches.

If I did time then I would never make it as far as 10k as that is NEVER going to happen in 60 minutes. I am hoping to graduate this with a 10k done in 1hr 15mins ish!

You sound like you have a busy week ahead too, enjoy :)

Fantastic stuff... swimming is a great way of cross training and being zero impact helps lots, I should do more of it.

Have a wonderful 5.5k
