I use polish for my normal shoes but not running shoes, if there is any mud on my running shoes I gently brush the mud off with a scrubbing brush, this Friday the 26th June I will have had my running shoes for exactly a year.

This morning at half past six I ran my 10th 10K in them. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Great way to start the day AlMorr with your 10th 10k. Looks like it's going to be a nice day 🌞🌞

I don’t do anything to my shoes and prefer to keep all the dirt and mud as a badge of hard work

I mean they get smelly on the inside with sweat and pouring rain🀣

Oh, I’m lucky my shoes never smell badly. I don’t do anything with them, just leave them to dry naturally. Some people stuff theirs with newspaper, that absorbs wetness and sweat so you could try that.

Someone told me to put green teabags in your shoes as they absorb the smell. Seems to work. 2 of my pairs are 2 years old. And still smell ok.

Mind you I had set off in my warmup walk one morning, still half asleep and thought my sock was rolled under or something. Stopped to check and found I’d forgotten to take them out before I set off!!!!

Thanks limberlou I will try that. I now remember you telling that story 🀣🀣

Irishprincess, you can look forward to seeing my running shoes this Friday, I have already taken a photograph of them next to my cat, this Friday is the day a year ago that I bought them, I will post the photo on Friday. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Ah! Smelly feet and shoes!

Try the NHS advice. We used hibiscrub soap. It worked fantastic with our youngest kitten.

My feet are not smelly and neither are my every day trainers🀣 it's just the trainers I use for running πŸ‘

You can get alternative insoles.... that might help if you can rotate their use with the existing ones.

I only wear mine to run in and take them off once I’m in the door. I never wear them for anything other than running. So I luckily never get them to a stage where they start to get an odour. Maybe let them cool down outside in fresh air after a run. It’s probably just sweat or puddle jumping. Fresh air might do the trick.

I just stuff mine with kitchen towel after each run - the one with the really big absorbent sheets, Blitz I think it’s called πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

My running shoes - well the old ones - were like yours! Maybe we"ll have to try the green teabag thing? But if you find anything else that works, please write another post, because I need it too!!

It's only my running shoes my every day trainers are fine. Then again the running shoes can get a right soaking as I love doing the long runs in the rain. Maybe I need to dry them better 😊

Mine are pure filth.... I need a new pair as they are falling to bits, but they also stink.

I alternate a few pairs 😢

My every day trainers aren't smelly so its just the running trainers with getting soaked in the rain , even though I stuff them with kitchen roll and sit them under the radiator. I'm going to try baking soda to sprinkle inside to see if it works 😊

Alternating them would mean they have time to freshen up in between

πŸ‘I'm doing that now as I have a few pairs
