EGO vs PMA

So fellow Community Joggers/Runners, as a recent graduate, I decided to try the classic tale of trying something I'm not familiar with, a straight 5k run on Saturday last.

So I guess we all have been there when we think we know our capabilities when we actually dont hence Ego, so this morning I went back to the program I did my 30min jog/run.

But I'm feeling it now not so much tired out just muscle ache, I knew straight away, well at the first 1k stint I was well below par, and so I dugged deep and got my mojo back at the same time annoyed with myself for doing my own thing on Saturday.

I guess I must remember after 11 weeks in I'm nowhere fit enough to tackle stats, and eat humble pie and stick to the plan, so I dont mind being straight and honest on this forum as my mistakes may help others ,as others have helped me.

During today's run my aches and burn was tempting to push .....no pain no gain, but I'm more concerned with potential getting a injury, so I resisted.

So PMA aka: positive mental attitude. All the way and Follow the advice on this program. 😉😷💯🏃‍♂️

Well done graduating and sorry to hear you had a hard lesson to learn, but great determination. Distances will come, and with patience they will arrive injury free. Consolidate your 30minute runs for a while before slowly increasing by 10% per week. When you are ready to move on the 10k plan is great, you can do it either by time to 60minutes or all the way to 10k. Happy running 🤗

Sometimes we have to push a little, just to see if we can. It's always useful to learn lessons, and especially if no harm comes from them.

Aching muscles... make sure your hydration is on point. Muscles really, really need good hydration levels, every day along with good breathing (oxygen) for best performance. 👍🏻😁
