8km attempt not quite to plan

Yesterday was supposed to be my first attempt at 8km. I prefer to run pre breakfast but didn’t get a great nights sleep so delayed my run to just before lunch. Set off with a route in mind but changed it about 2km in due to some oncoming dog walkers 😀. Started flagging after 6km but decided to push on, then hit 7km and faced a steep uphill finish that looked too daunting and I packed in. Oh well not a bad run overall, bit disappointed I didn’t brave the hill but more miles on the clock. Will go again next weekend.

Great effort, you will certainly manage that hill if you slow down a little, closer steps. Hard though coming at the end of the run. Good luck next time. Happy running 🤗

As you say - it's all miles in the legs and I do believe it's good to listen to your body so I think you made a good decision. That 8k is yours for the taking next weekend! 💪🙂

With hills treat them as recovery runs as you use different muscles. 7k is nothing to be sniffed at so onwards and upwards!
