If I go for a run early to avoid this heat do I get up extra early for brekkie or not bother? I find it a struggle to eat before 7am and usually just go without. Yet if I go later and have breakfast I run better. What do others do?

No breakfast for me. Just a mug of tea. Too many school memories of heaving after strenuous effort. Also, so good to have burnt off breakfast before eating it. 😇
I am with HeavyFoot. I have been running early mornings since the heat got silly. Can’t run with a full stomach so it’s drinking to hydrate and taking a drink with me. Breakfast will still be there when you get home.
Thanks Heavyfoot. Yes I do like the feeling of smugness when I see how many calories I’ve burned and often then I want something light and nutritious 😁🍰😳
Strangely enough, when I finish a run I often forget I haven’t eaten breakfast until my wife reminds me at 10ish. Adrenaline? On non-running days I’m ready for brekkers at 7.30 on the dot.
I don’t run early. Earliest I run is on a Saturday morning for parkrun which is at 9-9:30 am. I just have a slice of toast with peanut butter and a coffee.
I have gotten used to running after work over the past 3 years. I now much prefer evenings during the week. But I do run on Saturday and Sunday mornings too. But very rarely before 9am.
Yep I’m with HeavyFoot and ChainsawCharlie on this one! I go out early so after a cup of tea with hubby I’m up ( glass of water) and out ,no breakfast . I find I run better before breakfast.
If I run before breakfast, I have a banana & some very diluted juice - a suggestion from Iannodatruffe which works well for me. However I do run later 2-3 hours after a meal more often. 😄
