Completed C25K last Tuesday and have had one successful 30 min run since and another due tomorrow. However, my eating has gone off the Richter scale with chocolate and cake being demolished with wild abandon. I’ve previously had a weight problem but thought the binges were under control?? Any ideas, short of stitching my mouth up 😂. I know my run tomorrow will be a challenge because of it.

Congratulations and well done on graduating 👍🙂 It’s a brilliant life-changing achievement so don’t spoil your running body with extra calories.

You don’t need any extra calories after a 30 minute run, just a glass of water. All I can say is if you’ve had the self-discipline to get through the C25K then you’ll also have the self-discipline to say no to the cake and chocolate. It’s your body so only you can make the decisions and live with the consequences.....

Thank you. Today’s a new day so focussing in only feeding body what it needs and not what I want 👌

Good stuff! I really want a bottle of red wine and a huge bag of crisps every night but do I succumb? No. Because 1) I hate what that would do to my body, 2) I’d hate the way it’d make me feel afterwards and 3) it would interfere with my running. Nothing, but nothing comes between me and my running 💪🏃‍♀️🙂

Go on, you can do this......

Yes. Don’t do it ! 🤷‍♀️😁

By all means have choc cake but when you’ve earned by burning off those calories, but then in moderation

Keep bad stuff out the house if you can’t handle it Swap it for healthy stuff. Make healthy snacks if you must snack. If you eat enough at meal times you don’t need to snack unless you’re running over an hour. I run between breakfast and lunch usually so have lunch when I get back

You can sort your eating out but it’s a lifestyle change and folks are resistant to change 🤷‍♀️ You have to want to

Chances are, if you keep up this running lark, you’ll want to continue the feel-good factor and start making healthier choices. 😃👍

I do now as feel sluggish after a couple of binge days. Thank you

To be honest, I love red wine and crisps or cheese and biscuits but instead of having a bit every night or every other night I have them one night a week then it's something to look forward to. I don't go bonkers but do have the things I like in moderation (most times). Well done and keep going!

You’re obviously a savoury man rather than a sweet one. I’m the same, I prefer savoury. I’m not a man 😂

I luckily dont have weight problem but on numerous occasions since I took up running I've just had to eat - now, and some more. I find trying to have "healthy" filling but still tasty food around helps. I make cookies packed with oats, nuts, dates and prunes reducing the pure sugar. Sometimes I even have one before a run to give energy. Also lots of fresh fruit and veg to nibble on. It's just balancing the calorie input with the calorie output. Always have a large glass of water with or before that lovely snack to fill the gap. Happy eating 🤗
