So.... although I managed to run on Sunday niggle free, the niggle is back! I didn't have any issues before I went over on my ankle so I wonder if I've run too far too soon?? I have had problems with that knee in the dim and distant past so was careful doing c25k and leaving 2 rest days once I'd got to the runs without walking breaks. So, although I was physically fit enough after the ankle recovered maybe my knee wasn't ready to go back into things quite so quicky. So, more enforced rest, icing and then a rethink on how to get going again. I need structure so wonder if I should go back to an early ish week of the c25k programme... I don't want to cause more harm than good and not be able to run for a considerable amount of time. It's taken all my will power to not just go out and see how it is this evening because I could REALLY do with the headspace π€― maybe someone could take me on their next run and pass on some of that feel goodness!!! Happy running everyone πββοΈπββοΈ

Niggly knee
You've made the right decision to get more rest and ice your injury. Once you're feeling better going out for some shorter slower runs I think would be a great idea. Good luck and keep us posted π€π€
Oh no poor you. As you progress with your running you'll hopefully learn the niggles to ignore and those to react to. Follow your instinct at the moment and keep the pressure off for a bit maybe. I know I have several areas which have caused real issues in the past and during a run each one pops up to say remember me, but for me I find if I can pull in the abs and think of something else I realise that particular niggle has gone completely to replaced by another saying me! me!. For me its knowing which niggles to ignore. Happy running π€
Perhaps you could try some knee strengthening exercises/yoga. I found this helpful:

Good luck!
Oooooooh. Thank you.
I'm so sorry to hear about your knee but agree that it sounds like you are doing exactly the right things. Like you say, fingers crossed you caught it early and you can get back out there soon, injury free π€π€πΆββοΈπββοΈπΆββοΈπββοΈ
Definitely right to be cautious but don't necessarily go back to old runs. See how you go and experiment. As you run think think that if you needed to stop soon you're not too far away from home. I'd do a few shorter distances just to get the confidence back and by not going too far you can trust in it more. Knee strengthening exercises have really helped me too in my recovery. I wish you well. You will be back but it's important to go back and hopefully stay back. We're all rooting for you!
