Not sure if I should post this on C25K or here? This is my first post in well over a year. I graduated C25K back in November 2019. I started doing Parkrun and was really pleased to run below 35 mins (I am over 70 and no way an athlete) I started Bridge to 10K and got up to running 8K non stop, albeit slowly. Then almost overnight I found myself struggling, getting breathless and taking 45 mins to run 5K. To cut a long story short, I went for investigations. Major Vitamin D deficiency, shadow on the lungs (turned out to not be significant), then referral for an irregular heart beat etc. I have now been given the all clear and have begun running again. I started on C25K week 3 rather than week 1 as I am pretty fit (have been walking 6 plus miles a day with the dog during lock down) Weeks 3 and 4 were fine but now I have reached week 5, I am finding it tougher than expected-may repeat run 2 and have an extra day's rest before tackling the dreaded 20 min run non stop. I am though so pleased to be back again. I kept reading posts on health unlocked during my long lay off and this gave me the motivation to restart. Thank you one and all

It sounds like you have made some fantastic achievements. Good luck with the next step, listen to your body and do what makes you happy

Welcome back, what a time you’ve had with all those investigations. Hopefully you remember the mantra - take it slow and slower still. Repeating runs sounds like a plan as you build your running muscles back up. Happy running 🤗

So sorry to hear of your problems RubyTiger, but it’s great that you are able to get back To running again and repeating runs of c25k is a great way to do it.

Just take it nice and slow and listen to your body. It might also be worth checking out some strengthening exercises to support your running.

Enjoy.
