Torn between add a day vs JuJu's B210K

I'm really torn

JuJu's time Bridge to 10K looks really appealing.

But I usually crave a 4th run day each week. i.e....If I run m, w, and Fri..well, on Sat or Sun, my body always says -- 'hey, let's do a run!" and I have to restrain myself lol

Which way is healthier, B210K or Add-a-4th?

Which did you prefer ?

Thanks

It's better to keep to the plan to avoid injury.

I've read that both are valid plans

I guess you're saying only JuJu's is valid.

They are both valid, however, most people who have completed C25K tend to do the Ju Ju Magic plan if they want to run 10K.

Ah, got it. Thanks for the clarification.

I just increased by no more than 10% distance each week. If you add a day, make sure you keep the alternate days rule for the moment; so you will have different run days each week. The other thing is that it can get a bit boring just to do the same thing each run so maybe mix up your training with shorter runs, intervals, longer runs and 'off plan' runs. Most of all, enjoy :)

Ah that's really interesting.

So you're saying like, run M, W, F, Sun, Tue, Thurs, Sat etc, is that right?

in reply to Flattttt

Yes, it's too soon for you to be running consecutive days at the mo. That can come later, if you want :)

I also just turned one of my runs in to my weekly 'long run'. Just remember the 10% rule that Helenwheels mentions - don't increase your total weekly mileage by more than 10% each week. I also agree on keeping a days rest between runs but often run on alt days as described above. Good luck!

I run alternate days - 7 a fortnight instead of 6 so you dont miss that essential rest day. Started this half way through c25k. Now running over 100k a month.. if your week allows it give it a try and have a look at the 10k plan too. Happy running 🤗

I ran 5K x 3 times per week. I picked one of the runs then as a long run and each week added 500 meters onto it. It’s a nice manageable way of working gradually up to 10K.

I think you need to do what is right for you. I started running 4 times a week about 6 months after graduating from C25k, and I am now an everyday runner which I love. The 10k plan I share on here is designed to get you to 10k from 5k and is aimed at those who have completed C25k and looking for the next step. You know your body and what is right for it, so have a think, explore whats out there, and you could even try your own plan based on what works best.... :)
