Two years ago today I did W1R1 of C25k with the slowest ever 8 x 1 minute staggers before collapsing in a heap. To celebrate I was planning a “little” 10k, but, by the time my work teleconference finished, it was far too hot, so I put on my new Hokas and pootled a 32 min 5k, which, 2 years ago, felt like an unachievable target! Week 3 of the 1k speed challenge to come on Saturday as part of this week’s virtual parkrun. Congratulations and happy runniversary to the rest of you April people 🥳🥂
2nd Runniversary run: Two years ago today I... - Bridge to 10K
2nd Runniversary run
Great run today, well done. Happy runniversary 🎉🍾 happy running 🤗
Happy runniversary Sandie. The 10k will wait. I really thought that you might have gone out and smashed it today, but conf calls can be draining, especially for NHS.A nice bottle begging to be opened I think.🍾🍾🍾🍺
Congratulations on your runniversary Sandie. Doesn’t time fly!
Congratulations on your 2 year runniversary Sandie . Amazing 🥳🥳🥳
Congratulations dear Sandie. Who knew 2 years ago that you would go on to run a half Marathon. You are an inspiration. Celebrate. 🍾🥂
It is amazing how we can condition ourselves with dedication and perseverance. That's still a super 5k time too. Happy running anniversary. I really wish you many years of happy running ahead.
Thank you! Sub 60 10k is the next target. Never imagined in a million years that I would become a runner in my late 50s, but once I decide to do something, I can be pretty dogged 😂
Your times are really good already and I think you can chip away at that 1hour mark. To run like you are now is inspiring for many others following along the path. Best wishes.
Happy runniversary Sandie. It’s life changing, isn’t it! 👏🥂
Lovely 5k. Happy Runniversary Sandie 🥳 👍
Happy runniversary Sandie. Seems like yesterday doesn’t it?
Happy runniversary! Well done you! Funnily enough I decided last night the check when mine is/was!! 3 weeks ago! 1 whole year! I started running round our field and stuck to the bottom part where no one could see me - then I bought a treadmill on eBay for autumn and winter. So last night I ventured into the field and managed all the way round - the hills are now achievable! Seemed like mountains last year ! So next goal to go completely round Four times to achieve 5k rather than sticking to the flat!! Watch this space!!!
Happy runniversary. You have done some pretty amazing things in those 2 years. Well done , keep on trotting on.
Thank you 😊 Considering I was never going to go beyond 10k ... Certain VRBs (they know who they are!) have got a lot to answer for 😂
Happy runniversary for yesterday 🥳🎉🥂. You've achieved so much in two years, here's to many more happy running years 🥰
Happy runniversary Sandie! Amazing how time flies and how far you have come - bet you never even considered the possibility of a HM back then! Congratulations 🥳🍰🥂
Congratulations on your runniversary. 🍾🥂
I’m celebrating my 1st year at the weekend. Same as you, a year ago at the age of 56 I started C25K and never in a million years did I ever think I would ever be running 10K. Just goes to show if you want to achieve something it’s possible at any age with a bit of determination and perseverance. Keep up the good work Sandie1961😃
Happy runniversary to you Sandie 🎈🎉🍾 Here’s to many more running years ahead for you 🏃♀️🙂
Pootle 5k in 32 minutes you say? Hmmmm!!!! 🤣
Congratulations on your 2nd runniversary (hahaha, my predictive text knows that as a word!). You’ve come soooooo far in those 2 years and your speed is phenomenal. 🚀
It’s been fabulous having you as a VRB, followed swiftly by an ARB. 👍🏃♀️😀
Happy running into your 3rd year and see you soooooon (keeping all sorts crossed for a swift return to PR normality 🤞)
Well done. The benefits of this running thing are huge aren't they. Quite apart from the fitness, I find it really helps to get things in perspective if I am feeling a bit fed up! It is funny when you look back and think what a change its made.
Keep running.
Oh youve got me thinking, my Saucony's have 610Km on the clock , maybe I can justify a new set.
Thank you John! Yes, I think it would have been much harder over the last few weeks if I hadn’t been able to get out and just run and so glad I live in a rural area, where it’s easy to maintain social distance. Definitely sounds like a new pair are on the cards. Your current shoes have done their bit and are due a well earned retirement 😃
Great to hear thanks - having only completed it fairly recently it’s good to know that there are others still enjoying running years later. I’m hoping that too will be me!!
Happy 2year Runniversary you started a year before us, being able to run is just the best isn’t it?
Congratulations. I too started this in April 2 years ago - you sound a bit more structured (and faster) than me but I agree - it’s amazing!!
Happy runniversary to you too then 🥂 I wouldn’t say structured exactly - my HM training was on the back of a fag packet (metaphorically speaking 😂)
Well don’t tell anyone but my 10k was after lots of 5ks, one 7k and just because I kept going one day! I knew I’d got stamina but never thought I could run. Not following the plan but I’ve done it again since and survived. Stopping at that distance though. Good luck.
Happy runniversary Sandie for yesterday.
Great that you’re clearly enjoying it so much.
Happy running 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️👍
Many congratulations Sandie! I'm certain you'll make that sub-60 10k soon!👍🎉😀
Excellent 🥳
Hello Sandie1961, Sorry rather late to your Runniversary Party. Many congratulations
🎉🏃♀️🤸♀️🎉🏃♀️🤸♀️🎉🏃♀️🤸♀️🎉
How amazing that you count a 32 minute 5k run as a pootle!!!!!
Your post has made me look up my runniversary date. I now see that I completely missed my 2 years which was 24th March. Other things on my mind at that time, I expect. My running log tells me that I did actually run on that day, so that is good. 😊
