I have finally reached the 5k benchmark and have completed three so far. I am in no rush to progress further yet, my next goal is to keep up the 5k runs until they become easier.
Does it get to a point where you think "I need another challenge"? If so, I'm guessing this will vary for everyone but how long was this in your experience? And my final question is when I want to start running further (eventually), how do I go about doing that?
Thanks!
Happy runningππ

Hello Hasiesemeisie, when you're ready you can try this plan to get to 10k. Lots of people used it. You can do the timed one or the distance , its totally up to you. Good luck π
Congratulations on your graduation. The most important thing right now is to consolidate your 30 minute runs 3 times a week for 3 weeks . Try doing different routes , and different terrains to stop you getting bored. I believe there is a graduation forum to help you along with support and advice.
I graduated mid May 2018 , ran through the summer then I felt it was time to move on to the magic plan to extend to 10k in late August. That was later thAn most of my fellow graduates but I think you know when your body is ready to move on to longer distances. Donβt feel any pressure to move on just because others are.
Enjoy your running, this is just the start of your journey.
Thank you very much! This is great advice and I am really excited for this new challenge once I'm ready to!
You're in a great place to look at Bridge to 10k which I thoroughly recommend. Well done though on your achievements because you have put a lot of effort in up to this point.
