Ran 8k, on my way to 10k

Hi all.

Just thought I'd say that my journey to 10k continues a pace.

I'm following a Garmin coach, Amy, with a very conservative plan of running 10k by June 13th. No particular race, which is handy now they've all been cancelled.

It's a combination of different types of runs, pace, negative splits, hill runs etc about 4 times a week with videos interspersed. Although I have to admit doing it 4 times a week is a big ask, easier now I've nowhere else to go ๐Ÿ˜€

The longer runs are causing me to meet more people, especially running in the late afternoon. But if a mobile obstacle course at times. Going to try the longer runs in the morning in future.

Take care everyone

Noel.

Youโ€™re well on your way! That plan sounds very good, a great mix. So many plans donโ€™t have any variety. If youโ€™re finding the 4 times a week a challenge you could drop to three. You have lots of time and, as you say, no particular race to aim for although you are so nearly there ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Irishprinces

Its quite good at resetting future workouts if you miss any. Or you can reschedule one too.

Iโ€™m well chuffed to have run 8k twice in two weeks.

Iโ€™m keen to get to 10k and make it a repeatable thing and get there without any injury.

Thatโ€™s the priority - no injury ๐Ÿคž Youโ€™ve done really well, nearly there ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello,

How does one follow a "Garmin coach". Do you have to have a Garmin watch? Apologies for the ignorance displayed in my question but right now I just go out with my phone and the Asics app.

Thanks!

Hi Sofaspud. I should have said that, yes it a virtual coach that uses a Garmin watch to set workouts for you. Iโ€™ve got a Vivactive3.

The goal would be the same as the Magic10k plan, and is probably similar.
