With the morning gone in the blink of an eye, the only option was a late afternoon run π€¨, not unheard of but not as favoured as my morning escapes.
Let's go.... πππ
After a brief chit-chat with the two police officers across the aqueduct ( they were on tourist patrol) given its a world heritage status attraction, people come from all over to visit.... But not at the moment.
It's just me the sound of my footfall on the towpath and the intermittent background noise of rare cars, definitely outnumbered by the teatime birds and canal ducks.
The towpath section where today's run took me is home to some picturesque bridges... And who doesn't like a nice bridge complete with reflection π.
Hope you've all enjoyed your permitted exercise runs etc and mainly you're all staying healthy and safe ....

Thanks Myfi I do love the canal bridges and the reflections just add to their presence somehow
It is - provided you can avoid all the other people doing the same thing! But Iβm very lucky compared with many, so no real complaints!
What a beautiful route along the canal and lovely photos. Thank you for sharing them.
As we can only exercise once a day I gave our dog priority over my run yesterday as the rest of the household were tied up with college and school work or conferencing calling. I think my legs will appreciate the extra rest, so I plan on heading out tomorrow instead.
I think we sometimes don't fully appreciate what's around us whilst grinding out the miles DD. If I can drag one or even both of the teen-agers from their beds π then the dog is due his walk today as he's already been sitting by the back door in anticipation ππͺ
Jeesh you've been in that burrow for how many years Ali π no wonder you've not noticed the joys of a hill free towpath..... Welcome to life above ground ππ
I've had the luxury of the countryside all these years π It wasn't until I ran a 10k race there on the 14th March this year that I discovered how beautiful it actually was! I have walked and cycled along some of it, but nearer to the city. Now I will run along it more! β€οΈ
What's on our doorsteps Ali is so easily invisible π. I can start where the Llangollen canal starts and if the energy allowed just simply keep on going a towpath Marathon would be easily manageable, though a decent headlight would be needed as there are plenty of tunnels and one very scary dark one where you can't see the end until you're around the corner, we really are spoilt in our little bit of the world π€
