Hey everyone!!

Well today I completed my first race of 5K in sunny Inverness... what an amazing day it was! At the start there was a wee drop of drizzle but once we got going I didn’t even notice when it stopped as I was too busy watching all the people lining the streets spurring us on.

First 3K felt comfortable but after that some of the paths narrowed so it was harder to navigate around people in front of me. The wind picked up a little bit was keeping me cool so happy enough. There were a couple of foot bridges to cross which bounced. What an odd sensation trying to run over those 😆

I did walk a couple of times from then which in hindsight was more cos a lot of others were by this point so it almost gave me an excuse to walk too. My bad! My breathing and legs were ok so should have pushed on. Lesson for next time though!

Came into the leisure centre track for the finish and was cheered on by the crowds. At this point I was a little sad not to have my kids there to see mummy but nevertheless I pushed on and dare I say sprinted (well, kinda) to the finish line!

New PB 37.59....... I’ll take that! Thanks for all ur lovely words of encouragement not only from yesterday’s post but since starting my c25k journey, it’s meant so much! There’s a 10K in October here which I think I’ll aim for 🏃🏻‍♀️👍🏼😊
