Today was the day I’d earmarked for my 8k. It is miserable out there! I didn’t want to go. I was going to wait until this evening when the weather forecast changes. But I found myself getting my kit on and going out the door without giving myself a chance to talk myself out of it. I didn’t want to be a fair weather runner.
My body wasn’t up for it. My legs felt tired and heavy. My stomach felt tight. I almost slowed down to a walk at 5k, but I didn’t. I kept plodding on. The wind blew me every which way except forwards and, although I was glad of my waterproof jacket for the most part, I could have done without it acting like a sail on the gusty sections.
Well done for getting out there! 😵 Is your migraine problem solved? I’d guess if you were going to get them after a run, you definitely would have today!
Thanks Jazzyrunner. Yes! Problem all sorted. Turns out it was literally a hydration problem and generally not looking after myself properly 😕 All good now though 👍🏼 It did cross my mind that I might get one today actually with my body not being 100% compliant, having had too many glasses of wine last night, not enough water and not enough to eat this morning. It would have absolutely been the day for it. But, no, no sign thankfully. I think because I’m generally better hydrated now I got away with it 😅 Phew!
Well done to you on getting out and running that "horrible 8K" when you were not really wanting to run due to the weather, yes you can tick ✅that one off, done. 😊 🏃🏾 ✅
