I run through a fashionable public amenity area and it's not unusual to see film crews. We never get in each others way - until today.
I wasn't planning a fast run today - I want Friday's to be my "fast" weekly run, but somehow I was just gliding along and I could feel I was getting faster as I went and was sure I was on for a new PB.
2 miles in and suddenly there is a tall figure running towards me waving his arms frantically and wanting to me to stop and talk to him. He asks me to change my route, as otherwise I will run through the background of their shot.
To comply I ran down some steps, across a paved area between a lot of their people, and up an incline to rejoin my route. But my rhythm was gone and I could not regain it.
I was quite angry, and I suspect it was the BBC. I don't think it was local TV news because they had a lot of people standing around and a food truck and an ambulance. Phoned the BBC to complain as in my view when they film in that area which is very popular with runners and walkers they should guide people around the filming, not just flag them down. They have given me a case number and have promised to investigate if it was them and come back to me.
Grr! Maybe I am turning into Victor Meldrew!
