Hi Alan, I don’t know whether you’ve heard that The RNZ Concert programme is going to be axed and replaced with a “youth orientated” programme, which is very, very sad. If you’re interested in protesting, two online petitions have been started Avaas.org and Change.org.

I am very sorry to hear from you that RNZ Concert is going to be axed, I do listen to that program on a Monday evening from 7 to 8, at the moment that is 8 to 9am Tuesday New Zealand time.
I will sign that Change. Org Petition.
At this very moment in the UK it is 5.50 am Saturday and this morning I am going to Dunfermline for my first parkrun of 2020, at the moment the weather is good but later on Saturday and into Sunday everywhere in the UK is preparing for severe weather, many if not all running events for Sunday have been cancelled because of Storm Ciara, including the London Winter Half Marathon and 10K.
Have a nice relaxing weekend Lexi6 👍
Have a great first 2020 parkrun Alan. I’ve read about Storm Ciara and feel so sorry for everyone who was entered into events now cancelled. I have a 10k next week which is going to be a blustery affair I think, but hopefully not so severe as Ciara.
My last week’s parkrun I missed out on a PB by 2 seconds, so went back this morning and got a PB by almost a minute, time 36.33, very happy with that, hope to improve on that with some more regular parkruns. So glad you’re going to sign the petition, it will be an absolute tragedy if we lose it. Go you for parkrun today. 🏃♂️👍
Good morning lexi6, yesterday I ran my first parkrun of 2020 at Dunfermline, Dunfermline is the ancient capital of Scotland, I am not sure of the date Edinburgh became the capital, anyway I enjoyed my run, time was 33.30
I have read more about RNZ Concert coming off FM, more than 10,000 people have signed a petition as they are very unhappy about that decision, having a classical music station on AM is turning the clock back to the 1960's, even on AM it would be shared by parliament and some Christian station.
Even if it was only Online it would be what some call a classical jukebox type system streaming non stop music with no presenters.
If RNZ concert goes it will be a great loss to culture and the arts in New Zealand.
That was another great time at parkrun Alan. Yes I really hope they listen to what the people want or don’t want. What I can’t understand is why they think young people need to be catered for and I wonder how many actually listen to the radio anyway, they all have untold “devices” Spotify etc.
