I had pains in my legs following my 13k run in mid December, so for the past 6 weeks I have stuck to fairky easy 5k and 10k runs and have been working on strength and flex. I always run by myself.
However, tomorrow, I have been invited to go on a 12k run with a group of ladies I haven't met, who are all faster than me (I assume) and in an area I've never run before!
I'm feeling really really nervous, but determined that I'm not going to chicken out! I am definitely going to go! Wish me luck! π€

I do wish you luck Cantstopmenow, I like the way you say that that you have stuck to fairly easy 5 and 10K runs, ha, there are a few here that may not think the same about these runs, especially the 10K.π€
As far as running that 12K with those runners tomorrow, they may not all be faster runners than you. I suppose one way to find out is tell them your average and PB 10K time, that way you should know roughly what pace to run at, good luck and report back on this forum on how you got on. π ππΎ
Thank you AlMorr. When I say fairly easy I guess I mean that I haven't pushed the pace and i have chosen fairly flat routes. I haven't necessarily found it easy to run the distance π
I got the winter leggings. They are so warm - just the job. I dont think I could get the top in my size. I was going to buy the gloves you recommnded but then I bought some in the Lake district.
I actually have new stuff I bought last year but with weight loss it might be to big . If I buy any new summer gear you'll be the first to knowπ€£π€£
Hi. Let us know how u get on. You'll do great! Sounds like Yr doing great with runs and strengthening. Have fun. Last a year a friend of mine at work...well we got to be pals after talking about running! Invited me out and I was excited and nervous as never ran with others either... But it was great. You'll pick up good advice and have a good chat, π
