Boogie!

I've been dreading the last run of the timed programme, but I did it! I ran for an hour, which for me, was about 8.5 k. Now it's up to me to build it up a bit further to 10k. It took me a couple of weeks longer than 8, but we have had Christmas, and I wasn't well a couple of times, so I reckon that wasn't bad going. It's been a really good programme structure to stick to, and it's built my confidence up again - I was a bit lost after C25K!

Good luck to everyone else doing the Magic 10k, you'll get there in the end!

You'll reach 10k in no time 😊

Congratulations that’s a fantastic achievement particularly with Christmas and the general winter running conditions. You should be really proud of yourself. 🥳👋👋

Thank you - I am really proud- the last time I tried to go past 5k I failed miserably, so this time it felt like I worked hard 😊

🎉👏🏼🎉 Well done. I did the 60 minute build up, as you have done. When I’d got there, I went to the distance version of Magic 10 and slotted into the distance I’d done in 60 minutes & roughly moved on from there. It worked well for me. I didn’t quite stick to the plan - my (ahem) mature legs needed some extra consolidation runs along the way. But it gave me a good framework and I do recommend the method. 😊👍

Thank you! That's more or less what I was going to do. I think an extra 0.5k a week should get me there. I can't quite believe I'm nearly there 😊

Well done! I took.longer than 8 weeks as well and did every time twice. You should be able to go for 9 next time (twice) and then 10 - that's what I was advised to do on here. It's an amazing achievement - enjoy!

Brilliant, well done 🙌. I'm in the same place, I managed to run 8.5k in 60 mins a few weeks ago but haven't managed to get enough time to run any further so far. Been doing mainly 5 or 6k last couple of weeks - but 8.5k isn't far off 10k so hoping I'll make 10k soon 🤞. Good luck !

That's exactly one of the problems when the runs get longer - time! Hopefully the weekend should be a good chance to fit one in. It takes a lot of planning to do this running lark!
