Treadmill running!

For various reasons I have been doing all of my running on the treadmill lately! Bring on the lighter evenings so that I can get back on the roads. I’m finding that I’m running less mileage because I’m so much slower and it’s really starting to bother me. Has anyone else had this? I don’t feel slower but I’m running for the same time and not hitting nearly the same distance. I’m baffled 🤷‍♀️

Some of it is just mental, it's hard to run the same way on a treadmill as outside... it's just so dull.

Some of it is accuracy; I frequently doubt the mileage my treadmill states. I know how far I can cover, especially at a steady pace and yet it constantly reports short.

Don't let it get under your skin, just wait for the weather and the return of outdoor miles 👍🏻😁

It is dull isn’t it, one of the things I love about running is that it gets me outside. It’s just started me worrying because I’m not the fastest runner to start with so it’s a bit of a blow to be told I’m even slower 😂

Sorry you are struggling with the running, think how wonderful that 1st run outside will be hopefully in the not too distant future. Happy running

I’m the same did all my c25k on the treadmill and the consolidation runs getting up to 50 mins then decided to go outside. I still use the treadmill quite a bit because it’s more convenient but find my pace is much slower I try and match my outdoor pace but find it tough and can only do maximum 35 mins now on treadmill as I find it quite hard. I hope you get your issue resolved.

Weird isn’t it! I’m happy to be running at all so will stick with it but really can’t wait to get outside and back to ‘real running’ 😁
