I’ve been forced to run on a treadmill due to 14 days of isolation- I’m loving it. Why does it seem much easier than road running ? I get that it forces me to run at a set pace and that would improve my splits and that no road crossings, pavements, weather, hills etc would help but it just seems so much easier to me. Not experiencing same level of aches and pains either.

Brilliant that you are enjoying the treadmill. No weather, no uneven surfaces, no resistance as surface moves under you. Happy running 🤗

You’re not experiencing the same impacts on the treadmill, and also not having to drive forwards as your back foot lifts... usually this means the stride is shorter and quicker. Overall this will have you feeling the after effects a lot less. It’s great for getting used to a pace or cadence and also can be good for improving form.
