So happy! I went out and did it. It was hard but absolutely wonderful!! Managed 4K with a few stops to catch my breath.
Well that’s it. After a 8 week break ( lost the motivation basically) I’m venturing out again. Fully aware that I probably won’t manage a full 5k (the 10k runs seem like an even more distant memory) but I will give it a good go. Happy running in 2020 everyone !

I can completely relate to this! I managed to get up to 10km last summer, but I've been increasingly sedentary over the winter. I've blamed the cold, the dark, work commitments... Basically anything. I finally dragged myself out today and somehow managed to run for 5km. Along the river near me, several fishermen asked after my wellbeing by the time I'd finished and was walking back. Turns out I was actually beetroot-coloured. (The humiliation wasn't helped by the fact that my running kit is definitely more snug than it was a few months ago ).
I am sure you will get back to longer distances - if we could do it in the past, we can do it again (I think!). Bring on spring!
