Wish me luck

Doing the Couch25k plan and starting to run as well as joining the forum has made a huge difference to my life. It however not affected my weight. ( it was never my intention to lose weight by running). I did get leaner legs and arms, but still feel too big round the middle so I have signed up to a 6 week body transformation challenge at a local gym. I will still be running and hopefully with less weight to carry, will find running easier and eventually make the 10km (or most likely 1hr). So wish me luck as it's going to be hard work, but I feel that if I can run (which I never thought possible), I can do anything 💪

I lost 2 stone in weight last year. It was all from watching what I ate. Exercise alone will not work unfortunately. It is 90% food related and 10% exercise.

In the last month I have gained 10 lbs in weight as I was not watching what I ate and threw caution to the wind over the build up to Christmas and Christmas itself. I ran loads whilst I was off, did 5 parkruns in 2 weeks and a 5K road race, plus a few 5K training runs. You’ll never out run a poor diet unfortunately. I’m back on the healthy bus again and weight is falling off once more.

Running is so much easier once you lose some extra weight.

Best of luck.

Thank you.....I know all of this in theory, it's just too easy to make excuses (for me anyway). So being accountable and having someone on by back is the only way forward for me. 😊

Best thing is buy a little note book. Be very honest and write into it what you eat every day. Really honest. You won’t make excuses then.

But it just takes time. I have been running for almost 3 years and only moved into successfully losing weight last year. I wish you every success and huge congratulations to you on all your success so far.

Yes, we've been told to use it to track our protein intake. Seems quite good, although some of the food options on there are rather odd.....had my first gym session yesterday. I am aching all over , but feeling really good. Already looking forward to going for a run. (Once I can move again 😂)
