A nice run around Hanworth Park this morning took me to 22. It was a small, friendly group and a simple 2-lap course around the field. Flat, and about half-and-half grass and path. The grass was, of course, muddy. My time was actually better than it has been recently, and not bad for a 'heavy going' run in trail shoes. I think the path helped, but also more running over the Christmas holiday with the longer runs reaching for 10k.
So that's my parkrun total for 2019. I'm close to my goal of 25 different venues, although I have been made aware of the 'unofficial' challenge to do 50 parkruns at the first 50 different events. That will be really tough, and I'm not sure how practical, as it will definitely involve either *much* earlier starts or staying away for a night, as I am rapidly running out of local events.
I am resigned to not doing the New Year's Day parkruns, and certainly not the double, as we always host a party for friends the night before and I doubt I will be in a fit state.
Speaking of which, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas, and that you will see in the New Year in good health and with positive goals for the future.

Wow well done. Best wishes for your parkrun journey in 2020. I did my first Christmas morning parkrun this year and I’m looking forward to doing a New Years Day double on Wednesday. I’m hosting a New Years Party in my home this year, but I’m going to be taking it very easy, a glass or two of wine and then Heineken Zero for the rest of the evening.
Well done Charliemouse , we did that one in September when it was a lot drier. In fact it was like running through the Savannah with the long grass. Happy new parkrunning year.
I think 22 in your first 22 is pretty awesome, and there’s no harm settling for local ones except when you are away, or say a monthly longer trip. In many ways I am glad parkrun tourism didn’t occur to me until I had solidified a year at my local.
When Dexy5 , UpTheStanley and I did Hanworth it was an utterly scorching late summer day and one of the runners collapsed with heatstroke. I met an 80 something man who explained the history of the air park and the Zeppelins. Then we ended up sorting tokens in the leisure centre.
