Parkrun Milestone

I started c25k program two years ago next month, thinking can I do this! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be competing in running events. C25k has allowed me to meet so many lovely people at events and share things online and has been one of the best things I have done, it has given me fitness that had long deserted me and given me an interest or should I say obsession I never thought I had in me.

Today was my Parkrun milestone, I reached 50 runs at my home course at Havant, no PB's but still an enjoyable run and atmosphere as usual at parkruns. It was also Team GB day to celebrate our athletes from Rio. We had bunting and banners to use for selfies, what a great idea that was, I just had to get in on the act there! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽ‰ Have a great weekend all and happy running!

Nice one Frank, that is a great achievement. At my present rate it will take me over three more years to get there!!

Keep running, keep smiling.

I use Saturday as a "training day" at parkrun. Whatever my current plan calls for on a Saturday is what I do there :) Right now it fits in nicely as a "tempo run" day

Congratulations!!! Parkrun has been a great find for me too!! We used to have a TV ad over here MANY years ago, where these two old biddies are talking over the fence about something - one uses the phrase "an ath-elete like my "arold" . Who would have dreamed that we all could become ath-eletes like 'er 'arold??? :)

Thanks Bazza, at the moment I'm using it as part of my training for the great south run in Oct, but started parkruns much before this training started. But the I find them very supportive and friendly.

Great post Frank and great photos too. :) It'll probably take me at least another 5 years to get to my 50!

A great achievement frank, this running lark changes you for the better doesn't it? I wish more people would realise. My non running friends think I am completely mad running at my age ( I'm 50) and can't see why on earth we do it. I must admit I used to think that but once you start there is no going back. You are an inspiration ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you for your kind words, people also think I'm mad, but each to their own eh! ๐Ÿ˜Š I never started running until I retired as a means of keeping fit and it has worked for me, I just love the fresh air when your out, keep your running going and have a lovely weekend! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
