The timed one worked well for us until work and sleep took over our lives

I think the idea is you can do the times one and over the course your speed will naturally increase, it was increasing with us before we gave up and went back to running when or how long we could

I'm slow and was close to 50 min so I did the distance one. I don't think speed matters, if you are very fast, you can do distance first and time later, if you are slow you can do time first and distance later, or go straight for distance :)

I ran 5K twice per week and also did 1 long run. I just added 500 meters onto my long run each week until I got to 10K. My first 10K took me 1:15. I can do 10K in under an hour now. But it was the 5K training which improves my pace.

Happy Christmas,

Damien
