Parkrun in the drizzle this morning, so that's Week 2 done. ☺ Mapmyrun is again saying that it was under the 5km but my friend who was running had it at just over the 5km. Oh, the joys of technology! My son came with me this week and for the first time, we met up with friends. All set off together but soon they had disappeared over the horizon and I was on my own in the forest. I wanted to stay slow and steady but I did speed up a little on the final uphill stretch and sprinted to the finish line with my son and our friends clapping me home, which felt lovely. No official time yet but I think it will be about 40 minutes, same as last week. Happy weekend everyone!

You too, Buddy34. The sun is even trying to come out now and there are glimpses of blue skies through the clouds... 😂

Parkruns have to measure their course using one of those little measuring wheels. So, forget your Mapmyrun - you did 5K!!!!!!

😂 Thanks, Theziggy. I know it shouldn't annoy me but it does! Stupid mapmyrun!

It was lovely, he couldn't come last week and I really missed having him waiting for me at the finish line!

Well done you! I've done the same - finished W2 of the magic plan with Park Run. I really want to be under 40 minutes but there's a huge hill ( though I'm sure it should be classified as a mountain!) that always slows me down. Luckily the rain stayed away, though I'm still cold from the 6K I ran on Monday night when it was 1 degree. 🏃🏻‍♀️☃️🤣

Our course is hilly too, love the downhill bits but the uphill sections are tough! Official time is 39:56 so I am delighted to have just snuck in under the 40 minute mark! 😂 My treat for this week is a running jacket which should be arriving on Monday - bound to make me run faster, right?! 🤣 Well done on your Parkrun and they say the uphill runs are soooo good for building stamina so it's all worth it in the end, honest.

ooo I am so jealous that you got under 40 minutes. My results aren't in but Strava thinks it's about 40:45.

A jacket is a fantastic treat! Mine was a chocolate Christmas tree brownie, which I am sure is responsible for those extra seconds!!!

It's still 5k. 😊

Good run for you today Debston, Mapmyrun has recently ".improved" its accuracy regarding GPS, I am not sure about that, before the 'improvement' when I ran a 5K locally the 1K and the 5K point were always at the same place, since the change I have to run further to get to the 1 and 5K points, hmmm? 😀

It's a conspiracy to make us run further! 😂

Yes, also not likely to get a PB, my time at parkrun this morning with a few hills was 32.43, I ran a 5K on a flatter route locally on Wednesday using Mapmyrun with the "improved" GPS in a time of 36.13, every kilometer seemed longer than they used to be* hopefully, they will sort things out before my next run. 🏃🏾

*K5 was at least 300 metres beyond what it used to be.

Well done Debston. We had rain threaten this morning but the parkrun fairies kept it away. It was cold though. My new base layer worked great. Well done too to your Son.

Thanks damienair! Bless those Parkrun fairies, hope they fly over to Kent next weekend! My son was really pleased to be back at Parkrun, he's not been able to get there for the last few weeks. He had an eventful run, having to retie his shoelaces FOUR times (!) and best of all, leaving his shoe behind in the mud and having to hop back to put it back on! Despite all the mishaps, he still got a great time so he's very happy 😊.
