Magic Plan - Week 1 ✅

Did my 5km at Parkrun this morning. Haven't been able to get to my local Parkrun for a couple of weeks and it felt good to be back. The forest was ablaze with colour, lots of autumn leaves still on the trees, despite the high winds a couple of weeks ago. I don't know my official time yet, don't think it will be a PB but somewhere around the 40 minute mark which is good for me. Annoyingly, mapmyrun has clocked it as just under the 5k - don't think I cut any corners! Feeling good now and ready for Week 2.

Just good to get out there running with other people Debston. Times will improve when you are ready....and if they don't so what? 😊

That's a great attitude, I know that the time isn't really the important part. But it is nice when you get a new pb! After having a couple of health issues in recent months, I am just happy to be back running again really. ☺

What a beautiful location for your park run! - the gadget gremlins are at it again can nothing be trusted!! Well done 😁

It is really beautiful, despite the sodding hills! 😂 I am lucky to have it as my local Parkrun.

Congratulations on your run today, don't worry about Mapmyrun being a little out, trees can affect the link, wait for the official result.

Good luck for week two

Thanks AlMorr, official PR time was 40:05 so happy with that. Wish it had been 6 seconds faster though to get sub 40! 😂

Yes I was just thinking that as well, 6 seconds less would have been sub 40 minute 5K, nevermind, a good run today, next time will be sub 40.

I have just come back from a little run this afternoon as I wasn't at a parkrun this morning, I reran run 3 of week 6 of C25K with Laura , that is the one she tells me at the end that you are "officially a runner,"

I had music with me as well, the final tune 🎶 I heard just after I finished the run was "Speedy Gonzalas" , not sure if that applied to me as I ran probably at the most 4K in that 25 minute run

Nice one and a lovely place to run by the looks!

It's at beautiful Bedgebury Pinetum. We don't run round the lake though, it's all in the forest with its "undulating" trails.

I don't necessarily think mapmyrun would have been wrong. My local Parkrun (Abingdon) always comes out at 4.93 km instead of 5. This morning I did Didcot as Abingdon was cancelled due to high water levels on the Thames. Didcot came out as 5.07 km (and I checked other people's Strava records and they all come out between 5.07 and 5.1. So none of the Parkruns are exactly 5km. But it's nothing to worry about - the important thing is doing it! :-)

It's my local one and usually mapmyrun has it nearer to 5k. I did start near the front today so maybe that explains it. ☺

Thank you, I am always just happy that I can run the whole thing. I'd have laughed at that idea a year ago. So glad I decided to try C25K! ☺

It’s just amazing isn’t it? the first one minute runs nearly killed us and we have a lot of pride in our fitness now as we are a lazy pair.....once work is over sitting is our best skill or was
