I've been getting heart palpatations, truth be know have probably had them for a quite a while, didn't think they were serious with regard to the excercise I do,anyway, thought I'd get them checked out, as members of my family have AF, and had this in the back of my mind..

Wore a 24hr ECG recorder (did some excercise while wearing it) and had to wait 5 weeks for the results! and my GP confirmed they are just ectopic beats I can feel, so, all good. Has anyone here had any experience with feeling these beats and have an effective way of calming them? I'd like to know please, and another medal has come to light, so added to the photo..

I had heart palpitations and an irregular heartbeat a few years ago, use to lie in bed and feel them beating against the bed!

I had to wear one of those monitors for 24 hours too. Then I had further tests and was given the all clear although while waiting for the results I couldn’t run fast or far. Mine were stress related (I was going through a horrible time). Apparently many people have irregular heart beats and the consultant told me worrying about it would make it worse. So the only way I deal with it is to ignore it, try to relax and I never even think about it now. They all calmed down and I’ve never had them since.

Apart from when I drink too much coffee 🙄

Unless you’ve been told to calm them then why worry about doing that? Worry is going to make it worse. Maybe do more of what you love Dave......running? Or try yoga perhaps? But a good result for you in any event.

PS nice bling collection đź‘Ť

Thanks for the info IP, will do some more running, watch the caffeine intake and lower the stress, which may have been key due to wifeys major illnesses over recent years, but she's now good, so will try and ignore the beats, onwards & upwards! .. x

Yes, I’m not surprised you had heart palpitations Dave, it was a very stressful time I’m sure.
