Hello, peeps! I seem to have been away for some time. I put this down to the fact that my hubby has finally come home, after nearly twelve years away in the Middle East. Although Iโm still running regularly, I have got out of the habit of coming on here; something I used to do, to while away the hours of solitude.
A little while back, I had become exhausted and stale, so, following some excellent advice on here, I took a short break. I only missed one Parkrun, as our running club staged a takeover of the volunteer duties one week, which was on an EXTREMELY hot day. I was so glad I wasnโt running that day! My buddy and I stood at Jelly Baby Corner, and clapped and cheered all the runners. We had a great time, and I didnโt even steal any sweeties... well, not until the Tail Walker had gone by! ๐ I made a point of targeting those who seemed to be struggling, as I always find the Marshalโs encouragement so important when Iโm fading. It was actually a very moving morning. My friend said the same.
When I started back, I decided to do gentle short runs of 2 or 3 k, before doing Parkrun each week. This worked well for a few weeks, and now I am using the Stepping Stone podcasts to develop my running. This seems to be paying off, as my time for Parkrun is getting shorter each outing. One week, my eldest daughter, a very keen hill walker, joined me, which was lovely! She now runs a couple of times a week. ๐
Last month, I completed the 15 mile challenge for Race At Your Pace, and this month, I am over half way through the 25 mile challenge. On Friday, my running buddy and I will be running at night in a race in Thetford Forest, which I am really looking forward to. ๐
So, thatโs me in a nutshell! How about you? What have you all been up to? Do tell! ๐
