I stopped hikes whilst doing C25K and to allow slight foot/injury time to heal. Today was a try out 11K non stop hike (110 mins) on Cannock Chase. No issues and without trying quicker and easier. Surprisingly so going uphill. From that I gather running is helping hiking. However does it work in reverse - will hiking help running?

I would say yes . Both of them involve your legs and lungs. So win win 😊😊

One of the reasons I started running was to keep fit for going up mountains. It definitely made a huge difference! I think hiking, especially up and down hills, will help running by improving leg strength and aerobic fitness. Being in the hills and mountains is wonderful 😊

For sure! It is a great cross training activity. I trail run on some really rugged terrain, so I get to do both at the same time....run when I can and hike all the crazy hills. Fun, fun, fun!
