Another Saturday, another new parkrun, another new personal best.
I don't know how long I will keep this up, but my time does keep on dropping. I was convinced I did worse today, as it was getting hot by the end. I felt tired by the end, and was glad to see the finish. When I saw my time, I was amazed.
Frimley Lodge parkrun is quite busy. Well over 500 people, and a lot of people celebrating milestones. As always, very open and friendly. I am enjoying the 'tourist' aspect, discovering new and interesting places not too far from home, that I would never have visited otherwise.
5K is becoming more routine now, and soon I will be pushing towards 10k on a more consistent basis.

Hi Cheeky, just to tell you that I ran my fourth parkrun this morning at Dunfermline, no PB my time was 33.31, felt I could have gone a little faster but that run is between my 8k last Wednesday and a 9K which I hope to run next Wednesday so I did not want to go 'all-out' this morning,
I will try and send down to you that slightly cooler weather I have at the moment, 23C here compared to 28C where you are with higher humidity, I wish you the very best for your Severn Bridge 10k tomorrow, to keep cool, try and run as near to the safety railing along the edge of the bridge, that way you should get the cooler air coming up from the water below.
Congratulations to you Charlie on getting another PB at this morning's Firmley Lodge Parkrun, I ran my fourth one this morning, enjoyed the run but no PB
Parkrun is brilliant. Parkrun tourism is brilliant, I love the different courses and environments whilst knowing that underneath they are exactly the same and you will always know what to do. I chose Hamworth yesterday for a bit of tourism, just 72 participants, whereas Bushy, only just over a parkrun distance away, had 1354.
Well done; that's a lot of people to contend with! Frimley Lodge is my local run and when I run it it seems to be less than 5k. This is very annoying so just telling you in case your next run appears to be slower but actually is longer! Still keep going back and doing it again though (even during the week, on my own!) Happy running 🏃♂️🏃♀️
Thanks, but my time fell right between the previous run and the run this week, so the distance worked for me. I’m not sure I’d notice a few meters here or there.
That's OK then. I seem to have developed a competitive side to myself that I didn't know existed before and I was a bit disappointed that the distance seemed to be a bit short and it bugged me that it didn't seem to be quite 5K. I also did a fun run this weekend and got cross that people were allowed to stop after one lap (2.5K) rather than having to complete it all!! I scare myself sometimes!
