Getting over rubbish run

Thursday morning is usually reserved for trying something different. Yesterday was a new country lane near home and an extra 2 bpm on the metronome. Planned time: 30 minutes.

The Voices started as usual: “your legs are really stiff- probably from swimming yesterday “, “this road is hillier than you thought”, “there’s a lot of fast traffic on this road”. All true but I told the Voices to shut up.

Then, after 15 minutes, the Voices spoke true: “you really, really need the loo. And not just a pee. And it’s too dangerous to run”

I was really fed up for the rest of the day, but am girding my loins for parkrun.

Not every run can be a good one.

When you've got to go you've got to go . Don't beat yourself up . Enjoy your park run 😊

Some runs plain suck... the next one tends to be much smoother. Of course when you gotta go you gotta go!

Ah yes, the voices in our heads when we run. They can be quite loud and annoying sometimes. I’m glad you listened to the last one though! That could have been a little awkward 😱😆. I’ve been there and just found a bathroom in time 😰...:not pleasant to say the least.

Yes we've all had them, but I always tell myself at least it was a run, rather than not going 😊

You’re absolutely right. And despite all my misgivings, parkrun just went fine.
