I made a new year resolution to get sub 35 minutes at Parkrun, and am proud to say that I achieved it today.
Ok I only beat it by 2 seconds but my official PB is now 34.58 so I made it after 7 months of trying, and I am so proud, that I had to share it with you my VRBs so you know it can be done, with persistence and snail like doggedness. Onwards and upwards!
Happy running everyone!

Congratulations to you BarbieW on achieving your first sub 35 minute 5K parkrun this morning, well done, I was surprised on achieving a sub 35 minute 5K at my first parkrun two weeks ago, onwards and upwards to a sub 30 minute 5k, that would be a great achievement for both of us.
Well done I did my first sub 40 mins one today and it's a great feeling to see the improvement isn't it? I was showing as unknown on the parkrun results so had to go by my watch.
Well done you, too, yes that feeling of achievement is tremendous.
If you were given a token and noticed the number you can actually find yourself on the results by the number you were, so you can see the recorded time.
Nothing different at the Parkrun, except I must have run faster! But it didn’t feel like it, even for the 10 or so metres I walked (note to self; walked? Wimp! Think what your time would have been if you’d just carried on runnng!)
But I have been trying to include a couple of shorter and faster runs in my weekly schedule, and I’ve been using jog run sprint a few times too, so I guess I’m just getting to have stronger running legs.
I’m not sure if it will take me the rest of the year to get below 30 minutes, but if not then that’ll be next year’s resolution!
