Come to Bushy parkrun #800 next Saturday

Who’s going to come and run in the party that is Bushy Park’s 800th parkrun next Saturday?

It’s my local venue and I’ve run it 14 times since my first run in March when I was in wk7 run of C25k.

There’s going to be huge numbers there and we’re being encouraged to run in fancy dress and/or parkrun T-shirts and to brink drinks and cake etc to celebrate afterwards.

Hope to see some of you there!

Sorry, it won't be me unless I can get someone to run me 300 miles from Scotland where I live, I missed parkrun last Saturday because the previous Saturday had been my first parkrun which I enjoyed very much, today I did go but the rain stopped me as I don't have a car and live 25 miles away, I would hzve been soaked through before I even started the run, next Saturday the parkrun is cancelled because of a event in the park, Bushy Park is too far away, enjoy your run next week, as you say there will be huge numbers there, a very busy day for the volunteers.

Yes it should be a great atmosphere! Got soaked running it this morning - only my second run in the rain since I started my running journey 6 months ago

It's not as if I don't want to run in the rain, I live miles from the nearest parkrun, if I get soaked I just can't go into a car and change immediately, I would have to sit in a bus for 50 minutes with a wet T shirt, shorts and probably get a bad cold the next day, if the parkrun was within walking distance then I could change my clothes very quickly, not more than a hour later as it would be the case now.

No that wouldn’t be any fun at all - let’s hope the weather is better for you the next time you are planning to do a parkrun :)

Enjoy it, I hope it’s a grand party! I’m not good with big crowds so I will go to Bushey on a normal Parkrun! Xx

Normal is normally upwards 1200-1600 although a mere 860 today as rain and school holidays!

Being a serial ‘no drive to PR is too far to contemplate’ kind of person, I’m rather disappointed that I’m going to be at a wedding next Saturday so won’t even be able to do my local one. Waaa. 😩 I think I might have been tempted too, it sounds fantastic! Have fun HM! 😀👍🏃‍♀️🏃

I love Bushy Park parkrun. It’s only really viable if I stay over locally but it’s a pilgrimage I have made 3 times. Been there when the deer are rutting, makes an unusual backdrop to the iconic parkrun. I also love how it easily absorbs 1500 people with its enormous start line and the organisation they put into the finish. Hope you enjoy it, it should be amazing.
