Good morning, runners! Here we are again...yet another week on !
After a weekend full of sporting delight and massive wins... on the forums here too, and not just further afield, how is it all going.... ?
How are you all getting on with your goals ???
I am, as many of you know, delighted that I seem to be very gently, moving further away from the IC . Phew!
So..... I need to know what is going on with all of you...there have been so many fantastic firsts for many, many of you this last week and over the weekend!
What is the Quest?
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.
I ask that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:
★ To run three times a week
★ To slowly increase distance
★ To train for a specific race
★ To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine
This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! If you want to join, all you have to do is comment below with something like:
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in! I want to ..............
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate for you to download and keep!!
Please, do make sure you take care during the warmer weather....things are really hotting up!
Wishing you a wonderful week of safe and happy running! 💥

Happy St. Swithin's Day Floss and good morning to you!😊
Yes, what a fantastic weekend of sport that was. MrBBr watched every ball of the cricket world cup final...I just tuned in with 4 overs to go of England's innings and it was a sensational finish!! Unbelievable. The tennis finals were brilliant too!
I had a very good week. A 5k practise parkrun with Mr BBr on Tuesday, a 3k run on Thursday then an ACTUAL PARKRUN on Saturday 5k😄...(already mentioned in great detail 😆😉).... a first for me!
Some planks were done, and new arm and chest exercises included. Other than some quite physical gardening helping my daughter dig out a border and move a rockery on Wednesday, not much else done, but I watched some great Wimbledon matches on tv...
This week I will do a longer run on Tuesday, sonething shorter on Thursday, and we'll see about Saturday (yet to be discussed with Mr BBr) I think the British Golf open is on this weekend, so he will be distracted by that😊)
Wow....wow and wow....you have been very, very busy...the running and the gardening and the exercises too...! Really keeping on track..!
Getting the runs in is what we aim for..and as you always say..enjoying them...
Thank you...I am hoping for a short run tomorrow before small one arrives for the day.
PS
I have a new small rockery in progress here at home..how are you fixed??? 😆
The nice thing about race week is I get to take it easy So I have Pilates tonight, maybe a 5km on Wednesday and then I have a 10km trail race through a forest on Sunday next. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I seem to get more nervous with each race but this one is special because it's single file in places. Argh! Oh well, I'll have my normal race brekkie - overnight oats and a latte and I'll wear my new Sweaty Betty leggings (which I have broken in). Hopefully it will rain lightly
That sounds like a nice week Paula...culminating with your race on Sunday (or call it an event as Rfc recommends).. which will be fine. Channel that nervous energy into your legs, you know they will do a grand job!
New Sweaty Betty leggings you will look and feel amazing!
Event ! I like it. I made the fatal error of enthusing about the venue at work. So now two of my colleagues are going to do it. One young guy runs like a gazelle - his feet don’t touch the ground, he’s so speedy. The other older guy is an old greyhound who ambles Along as if he is going for a stroll. I’ll have to wear my leggings on my head as a Cagoule so that they won’t recognise me. Imagine if they got stuck behind me 😱
Oh, dear OF, it's difficult choosing to run in the heat; I cannot even drive to the Y. We have air alerts here for those with sensitivities such as asthma. It is up to 89 today and going to 93 further along in the week. St. Swithin's Day or not, I would personally welcome some cooling rain! I am supposed to run today, but--but--but the dog had diarrhea last night, I had a "disagreement" with a service company for not communicating re work to be done, and I am stressed from my morning so hubby and I went out for lunch which is uncommon for us. I am taking the afternoon and evening off with my only tasks to be those which really need doing around the house (checking salt levels, changing filters, and emptying water from the dehumidifier. I was supposed to run today; I hope I can get back in the saddle soon; that's all I can say.
Well, I missed posting last week & am running late (ooops, sorry, unintended) this week, but at least I’m still here. Three runs last week and I really did do 2 proper strength & flex sessions plus one sort-of-but-hmmm one. Almost on track this week although one thing & another is in the way of the steady running pattern I prefer. Bit of “keep on trying” this week I think. 😏 Glad to hear your IC experience is fading into the background. 👍🎉
