I came across this quote this week and if you can replace pain with struggle then I'm in full agreement.
I managed no runs Mon - Thurs as the absence of a site manager meant I was opening and locking up school! They don't tell you this is what headship involves when you apply... Still reports are done SATs results are in (we all get to keep our jobs) and sports day ticked off and only 1.5 weeks to go! Really I am more excited than the children 😂.
However I did manage another run on the way home from work on Friday and decided this 'therapy' needs to happen every week come September - can't do it next week as I be sleeping over (silly name - no one sleeps) with Year 6 in the woods - because it's just a brilliant way to shuck off all the emotional baggage of the week. It was the first run I've done without headphones in ages and felt really good - just the sound of the water a few friendly fishermen and my ragged breathing 😂 - and I am beginning to remember that I am a sunny weather runner!
I also managed a lovely scenic run today - the beginning of a rare day all to myself.
Hoping to manage 3x running in the last full week...
Hope you're all loving the heat and happy running.

Nearly there - not finishing on Friday though? Great to hear you're still getting out there. I particularly like the last line of the quote - it might end up on my tutor group/admin board next to my desk by the picture of my feet in running shoes at the edge of the sea - a reminder of how happy running makes me feel.
Good luck for the last week and a bit especially the 'sleeping' out in the woods!
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and so I guess would be the case with your running. I am sure you relish each run just that little bit more because of your struggle to fit them in.
Well done on all your work achievements too you sound like you have a lot to deal with. Enjoy your summer and your summer runs.
