Due to heat in France, I hadn’t run since Tuesday and have been missing the exercise. As daybreak temperature was “only” 23C today I decided to go for it. Only my 3km hilly run but better than nothing. My sensible side told me to take it easy. My stupid competitive side told me to try for a PB.
The choice was taken out of my hands by my stopwatch jamming. So a sensible jog it was. The Big Fellah intervening? 😇

Thanks OF. Rest assured I did read the post and I am SOOOO hydrated. 23C is cool by local standards. I think it’s 30 now and I’d be grateful if stays like this all day.
Ooh, a nice cool basement! We were considering moving into our entrance hall.
I start the long drive back to Cornwall (from near Perpignan) on Tuesday, leaving my second-best running shoes here. So no running until Saturday's Parkrun (with three day's of motorway sandwiches inside me!)
Although I have seen an improvement in the choice of food available over the last few years. In this season though, those motorway eateries are just heaving. Shame you don't have time to pop off the motorway and drive into a nearby town or village. A real break from driving and better food !
I ran twice in France week before last whilst on holiday but as soon as the heatwave hit last Monday that was it for me - way too hot to run, even early morning!
