Any suggestions for women’s running shoes suitable for bunions? I now have NewBalance which are really comfy but The outside edge of my big toes &the bottom of my feet between my big toes & the balls of my feet feel sore after running. I have problems with my everyday shoes & trainers as well.
I’ve had 2 pairs of running shoes since I started this running malarkey, I go to a specialist shop & last time I was in there an hour with some very patient assistants trying on many pairs before deciding on the pair I now have.
Just wondered if anybody else has this problem & which shoes they recommend.
Thank you 😊

I had some great New balance hybrid shoes that were a wide toe box that were amazing. After 2 pairs, they don't make them anymore. I'm currently running in Saucony Excursion 11 Trail shoes (wide) and they seem good, possibly too wide in the toe box, but much better than when I run in my New balance Synact road shoes. With bunions, the biggest thing is to find a wide toe box and material that is stretchy over the inside big toe joint. Surprisingly both pair of trail shoes I've had have a piece of material on the inner toe edge but my bunion fits between it and sits comfortably in the messy part of the shoe. There are also some different ways to string your shoes to help ease pressure. I'll see if I can find the link. My shoes are wide enough I haven't tried it yet, but I might give it a go for my road shoes.
I have extremely wide feet with bunions and after 2 failed attempts with shoes that seemed fine at first but then hurt, I’m now running in Saucony MENS Omni ISO everun. The toe box is very generous and although I’d prefer a nice coloured women’s fit shoe, I’m just happy if my feet are happy!
I have wide feet and a bunion and have a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 21, which are very comfortable as they have a wide toe box and they are also bright blue ❤️ I bought spandex gel bunion protectors (bliss)
I was browsing at the local sports shop the other day (as you do) looking for sandals for my bunion foot and the sales assistant said when buying running shoes to buy ones which don’t have any add ons, meaning anything that is glued or stitched on to the mesh. That made total sense to me, as I realise that the uncomfortable pair I hardly wear now have the makers (leather) logo stitched across the bunion side and I always used to come back from a run with an aching foot.
