Sweaty feet!

I’m getting closer and closer to the elusive 10K. My long run today was just shy of 9k and my feet were very hot, sweaty and uncomfortable me from maybe 2/3k. My running shoes are a good fit, but I do like to have them quite tightly laced as I’m paranoid about blisters (I’m very prone to blisters). Any recommendations on how to avoid this? I’m hoping to be able to run a half marathon by the end of the year and want to try and get this sorted. I’ve tried a whole variety of socks aimed to reduce blisters and so far no blisters but very hot and uncomfortable feet!

Well done on your 9K! Not far to go now.

I can’t advise you about the blister thing but I’ve heard that if you cover your feet with talc then that can help to prevent them. I’ve also heard that Vaseline works but I just think that would create more friction and therefore make a blister more likely.

Sorry, that’s probably just confused you rather than helped!

Hopefully someone will reply who’s had experience of blisters.

I hate getting hot feet, ‘touch wood’ I’ve not really had any problem with blisters, to date........for me, I’ve found Hilly twin skin socks perfect, I specifically look for the thinner/summer ones, absolutely love ‘em, depending on the distance/terrain, I do sometimes wear thicker ones, like 1000 mile, but they’re generally twin skin.

I do use Vaseline on my feet for multi terrain long runs, just on the bits that get the most rubbing, like under my big toe joint.

Hope you find something that suits
