If you are in the Health Services you are invited to join parkrun this weekend wearing a stethoscope or any other item to identify you. Over 1300 GPs have pledged to run.

Well done parkrun for getting health professionals involved in this weekly event which has encouraged people to get out and exercise every weekend.

Wow, there’s gonna be some empty golf courses on Saturday morning 🤣🤣

It’s a great idea to get GPs involved, I had no idea they’d get so many to sign up though... if they all bring a few others with them we shall have some big parkruns this week. Could get even busier here soon too!

I haven’t seen anything on our local Facebook page so I think I might post on it to gee up the race director. I suspect that most of those who have signed up are already runners but it would be great to see some take part for the first time.

A lady I regularly run with at running club is a GP Dexy5 and she's bringing others along with her on Saturday so hopefully it will be a good mix of those who are already runners and first timers 😁

That’s brilliant, even walkers benefit from the weekly 5k. It will be interesting to see how many turn up at ours

One of mine already has a couple of GPs running it regularly... but hopefully they will drag their friends along too.

Our PR FB page mentioned they were expecting a lot of GPs to turn out this weekend. Hope so! I’m volunteering, so I’ll make sure I give them an extra large whoop! 👊

This is fantastic! 😊 Is it mostly aimed at GPs, or all NHS workers?

Unfortunately I cant go tomorrow, but wondering how I would distinguish myself as I'm a mental health nurse. 🤣

It says GPs, practice staff, friends and families but obviously anyone can go to parkrun. I know in the nhs Anniversary there were a few white coats and surgical scrubs. If none of those apply I’d say a big badge with nhs on would suit. A shame you cannot go but there will be lots representing you.

This is excellent news, which I will pass around via Running Daughter who is an ED nurse. 👍👏🏼🎉
